San Juan del Sur on the initiative of the NGO Paso Pacifico and the support of the Municipal and SJS CANTUR held this April 23 with presentations and keynote addresses on the actions and activities taking place in that territory in favor of conservation, preservation and natural and environmental protection.
In his opening remarks, the mayor, Mr. Jorge Sanchez Santana, after greeting the guests, addressed especially to young students attending the event and environmentalists who said the generation of relief and urged them to continue to advocate and triggering the conservation and protection of natural resources of San Juan del Sur and Nicaragua. The mayor said all are the days of the earth and it is this precisely the tone of his administration, which is committed to actions, initiatives and measures to protect it. The land belongs to those who save lives and we - went - and the help that is denied to Nicaragua also is being denied to programs and initiatives for environmental protection.
Mayor Sánchez said that environmental responsibility is everyone, especially decision makers and those who hold public office. He used the occasion to denounce publicly about the cruel and unnatural practice of beheading sea \u200b\u200bturtles to extract their eggs to market. Was forceful in stating that: "No one who perpetrated the crime is responsible, but also those who sell, buy and eat their eggs." He warned that we are not aware or we are aware of the irreparable damage that we are making to the detriment of our grandchildren, who in the end will be those who bear the brunt of the disaster that we are causing.
